Aconcagua Climbing Adventure

In January 2021, The Explorer’s Passage will climb Aconcagua, its second mountain of the Seven Summits. Mt Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Western and Southern Hemispheres and the tallest mountain outside of Asia. Climbing Aconcagua is a formidable challenge and the summit stands  at 6,962 meters (22,841 ft). Formerly an ancient stratovolcano, Aconcagua is located in the Principal Cordillera of the Andes, in Argentina (on the border with Chile).

The first recorded Aconcagua summit attempt was made in 1883, but it would take many explorers making daring attempts over 14 years before Swiss climber Mathias Zurbriggen stood at the summit in 1897. Next year, you are invited to climb Aconcagua with TEP which is arguably the largest non-technical mountain in the world!

Climb Aconcagua with TEP!

Mt Aconcagua

  • Aconcagua, also known as the Stone Sentinel, is a feat for those daring to take high adventure.  The second tallest of the Seven Summits, climbers should not be deceived by a non-technical Aconcagua climbing route – this mountain will not be easy. However, the 360-view of the Andes mountain range, next to the aluminum cross that marks the highest point outside of Asia, will be worth every step!

  • Full of rich history, towering walls of rock, and a strong climbing community, the Aconcagua climb will have you walking in the footsteps of the Incas, European explorers, and record-breaking athletes. This is a feat you won’t forget!

World Class Guides

  • With over 20 years of experience, our guides are Aconcagua climbing experts. Our global staff is highly trained in a range of mountaineering skills, and our experience gives us one of the highest summit success rates on the mountain.

The TEP Community

  • The Explorer’s Passage not only prides itself on exceptional participant support, but goes above and beyond a normal traveling experience to create community before, during, and after your experience. Though this trip may only be three weeks, the friendships and connections you create will last a lifetime. Climbing Aconcagua with TEP will create a community unlike any you’ve experienced on other summit adventures.
