Jose
Jose’s father used to be a Captain of a tourism boat in the Galapagos Islands, his
mother is a teacher, and he has three sisters. He is from the Galapagos Islands, and went to
school there. One of his passions was always languages and the culture behind it, that’s why during his free time he learned English, Italian and is
just starting Portuguese.
Besides languages, since he was a young kid he has always loved being involved with volunteering programs and projects of conservation in the
islands such as, monitoring sea turtles and tortoises, eradications of introduced species, coastal cleanups, working with the community and programs with the local little kids. Because of his passions and since he has always liked being outdoors and exploring the uniqueness of the Enchanted Islands, he didn’t think twice when he got the opportunity to become a Galapagos Naturalist Guide when he was only 18 years old.
Since that time, he has been working in the inhabited Islands, on board expedition ships, and at the same time paid and finished his studies on
Business Management and Tourism Administration.
Nowadays he plans to do a Master’s degree on Sustainable Tourism, he believes that the tourism well managed is the key for the preservation and
restoration of the Galapagos Islands.
Yann
Born and raised in the Chamonix Valley, he proudly considers himself a “local product.” He discovered rock climbing at the age of 14, soon transitioning to mountaineering, a journey he embarked on somewhat by accident and has pursued ever since. At just 21, he became an IFMGA French mountain guide, an impressive achievement for his age. However, he also pursued a degree in materials science to broaden his horizons. After completing university, his passion for the mountains only intensified, leading him to become a full-time mountain guide, taking clients from their first steps in the mountains to the highest and most remote peaks in the world.
He enjoys every aspect of his job, from guiding beginners on their first summits to tackling challenging ascents like Cho Oyu (8,201 meters) in Nepal, as well as navigating the largest north faces in the Alps. What truly drives him is the incredible opportunity to share his passion for the mountains with others. He feels fortunate to provide clients with the extraordinary experience of simply being in the mountains, fostering a deep appreciation for nature and adventure in every individual he guides.

Elín Lóa hails from Ísafjörður in northwestern Iceland, but spent most of her life in Mosfellsbær. She has also lived in Ecuador, Cuba, and Hawaii. She started doing hiking tours in the summer of 2010, but only part time. Being a guide combined many of the things that she loves to do but it was also a way of living outside of Reykjavík, which allowed her to explore Iceland, work in the mountains, and meet interesting people.
Before joining our team as a guide, she worked as a hut warden, a park ranger in Askja, and in a youth center. Her interests include traveling, photography, and languages. Elín Lóa’s favorite places in Iceland are her family’s old house Vonarland in Djúpið in the Westfjords, and Askja in the north of Iceland.
Neptali
Without planning to, Neptali found a career in tourism. Ever since, he has not been able to go a day without travel and adventure. Originally from Cusco, Neptali will make your trip to Peru unforgettable, sharing with you his knowledge about Peruvian culture, customs and history. He does not see his work as a job. For Neptali, it is simply a chance for him to share his passion for incredible adventure and the history of his country. Neptali was introduced to tourism in the kitchen where, little by little, he began to dabble in other areas. He quickly went from kitchen assistant to chef to guide assistant and finally the great guide that he is today. A trip with Neptali will be perfect for any type of traveler because he has learned everything he knows in the field and can go into detail about each of the places you’ll visit on your trip.
